Getting Printing Routines in Order: How Label Template Corruption Was Stopped

One company faced a common challenge in the daily life of its warehouse. The IT manager created the label templates, but when the logistics manager in the warehouse needed to print labels quickly, the layouts often got accidentally jumbled. Text boxes might shift with a mouse click, and when text went over the edges or barcodes disappeared, the contents of the boxes had to be guessed on the shelves. Printing required unnecessary caution and, at times, the help of IT support.

We resolved the situation by clarifying the division of labor. The IT manager used Kroko Autoprint to create finished, locked label templates, and two icons were created on the warehouse staff's workstation: one opens a table created for product labels, and the other opens general quick printing.

Nowadays, when a new batch of goods arrives, the product table is opened, after which the information for the batch is either typed in or copied directly from the purchase order into the program, the correct label layout is selected, and the labels are printed. All other random markings – such as naming new storage locations or instruction slips – are handled through quick printing. This allows for effortlessly creating labels of different sizes, as the program automatically scales texts correctly on the fly.

As a result, warehouse labeling is now consistent, and everyone can easily find the information they need. Printing is flexible, but the standardized operating method speeds up daily work. There is no longer any need to worry about layouts breaking, and labels can be printed as a routine.
