Terminal Block, Component, and Fuse Marking

Terminal strips, relays, contactors, fuses, and I/O – all markings from the same panel schematic.

Electrical and automation cabinet marking is a visible part of documentation. When terminal blocks, components, and fuses are marked with the same logic as in the schematic, troubleshooting is accelerated and maintenance personnel can find the right target without guessing.

Cabinet marking is strip work

Terminal block marking is the most typical example: numbers 01–48 must be placed in the correct sequence with the exact pitch. Done manually, this is slow and error-prone; run directly from the design dataset, it is a single print job.

The same applies to components. Q1, K1, F1, PLC1, DI24, and DO12 originate from the same equipment list as the wire IDs, so printing them from the same data makes the most sense.

Cabinet marking methods

Terminal block markings

Numbered markings for terminal blocks either as individual labels or as a continuous strip with the correct pitch. Markings can combine terminal number, signal, voltage, I/O identifier, and cable ID – the exact same data shown on the schematic.

Component markings

Relays, contactors, push buttons, switches, power supplies, and sensors are marked on their own template, but sourced from the same equipment list. The same device and software handle both wire and component markings – no separate system is required.

Fuse markings

For fuses and miniature circuit breakers, mark the ID, protected circuit, and nominal current if required. Clear fuse marking is practically the fastest way to shorten troubleshooting duration in a panel.

I/O and signal markings

PLC inputs and outputs are marked so that the signal meaning is visible directly on the module, not just in documentation. With Autoprint, the I/O list is imported directly from Excel and each channel receives its own label.
